The Supervisor (MS) answers to the Facility Manager (FM) and Assistant Facility Manager (AFM).

The MS, hires, trains, supervises, review and discipline employees in the maintenance department. Supervisors also ensure that all work ordered is completed on time and according to quality standards and that spending on supplies used to complete maintenance remains within budgetary constraints.
Job Requirements:
The MS must have general knowledge in a multitude of building operating and maintenance disciplines.
In some instances, the supervisor also performs some necessary maintenance.
Job Qualifications:
The usual qualifications require a high school diploma as well as being a trades person or being a graduate of a technical college in a mechanical field. It is also required to have many years of experience working in facilities maintenance or as a qualified trades person.
